I'm expecting the worst
我做了最壞的打算
expect 表示「預期(一件事發生)」，expecting
the worst就是「等著最糟的情況來臨」，常與hoping for the best (懷抱最大的希望)連用。
A: How do you think you did on
the exam?
你覺得你這次考試表現如何？
B: Well, I'm hoping for the
best, but I'm expecting the worst.

(或寫做 all nighter) 及burn the midnight oil 都是「開夜車(趕工、讀書)」的口語表達法。
