Of course Huang-xiang and his father were both very sad. But little Huang-xiang was especially sad to see his father mourning day and night.
After a while Huang-xiang 1)noticed that his father was not sleeping well. 2)Apart from the grief he felt, he also had to 3)deal with the bad weather. Where they lived was very, very hot in the summer, and the winters were always 4)icy cold. Their grass hut did little to 5)protect them from the seasons.
當然黃香和父親都很難過，但令小黃香分外難過的是看到父親夜以繼日的悲傷。
一陣子之後，黃香發現父親睡得不好。除了心中悲苦，他還必須和惡劣的天氣搏鬥。他們住的地方夏天非常炎熱，冬天卻凜冽刺骨。草屋幾乎沒辦法保護他們不受寒暑侵襲。
