Warming up in the Cold 扇枕溫席

One cold winter night, Huang-xiang came up with an idea. He went and lay down in his father’s 1)chilly bed. He used his body to warm the 2)sheets and 3)mattress. When his father was ready to sleep, Huang-xiang 4)turned the warm bed over to him, and so his father slept very well.
The following summer, Huang-xiang came up with another idea. Before his father went to sleep, Huang-xiang used a 5)fan to 6)cool down the bed. He sat there 5)fanning and fanning until the sheets and 7)pillow were nice and 6)cool. And his father slept well in the cool, dry bed.
Now many years later, people still tell the story of the loving and devoted Huang-xiang.
一個寒冷的冬夜，黃香想出一個辦法。他先去躺父親冰冷的床，用體溫讓蓆子和墊子暖活起來。當父親準備就寢，黃香就把溫暖的床留給他，因此父親睡得很好。
隔年夏天，黃香想出另外一個主意。他在父親就寢前用扇子把床舖搧涼，他坐在那裡搧呀搧，直到蓆子和枕頭涼爽宜人為止，使父親在涼爽、乾燥的床上也睡得安穩。
多年後的今天，人們仍在傳送體貼、孝順的黃香的故事。
