Clerk: Can I show you how to use our new self-checkout system?
Customer: Yes, that’d be nice.
Clerk: First, just 1)scan your items one at a time.

Clerk: Right. Just keep doing that.
Customer: What about this produce?
Clerk: Put that on the 3)scale, then 4)select the 5)item on the touch screen.
Customer: And it automatically weighs it and calculates price?

Self-checkout 自助式收銀台
這年頭什麼都講求自助式，包括結帳！在Self checkout「自助收銀台」裡，你自己就是收銀員，可以自己試試看刷條碼的樂趣（假如你覺得有趣的話），不過這樣的自助式結帳櫃臺，由於不能找零（怕有人多拿），目前只能使用信用卡！而且一旁通常會有超市的工作人員監看並協助。
Express lane 快速結帳
express 是「快速」的意思，lane是「走道」，express lane是美國超級市場都會有的結帳櫃臺，通常會限制你買幾樣以下的物品才能通過。
