Quieter Showers Down Under 在澳洲淋浴要安靜
A report 1)conducted by Energy Australia, one of Australia’s largest gas and electricity 2)suppliers, has come up with a novel suggestion to help 3)conserve natural resources: stop singing in the shower.
Laugh if you will, but the report claims that “singing and daydreaming” in the shower lead to a 4)significant waste of water and the fuel used to heat it. The report also 5)cited shaving and brushing one’s teeth as wasteful shower activities, and suggested that people do these over the sink instead.
The report comes as world energy prices are at all-time record highs. Further, Australia is suffering from a record six-year-long 6)drought. It’s all enough to make one pity those poor Aussies: not only can they not sing in the shower, they can’t even sing in the rain.
